Drawing inspiration from vintage magazines, time periods, and interiors with certain psychological codes, these collages show geometric abstractions. By cutting, rearranging, and reassembling the image into a new configuration, these works reveal a phantom or give a new way to access history or time travel. The collage creates a rhythmic pattern that mesmerizes and disorients logical visual perception.
A geometric collage of circular puzzle pieces appears to rotate, as if a machine, yet remains still, while generating a quilt of abstract movement down a staircase. As in Marcel Du-champ's Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2, a still image shows a moving pattern to activate the still parts of the image, hoping to evoke a sensation of presence, action, and performance.
